FAQs
How can SafeTour help me create a safer environment?
SafeTour has developed a certified 2 hour training that can be facilitated online with up to 75 of your tour staff at one time. Before touring opens back up full time, we encourage everyone to start by getting basic training. We can provide a framework and resources to your tour and artist management to set the right accountability structure for when touring begins.
Does SafeTour provide on-going training?
We offer training by appointment. Contact us for more information on getting started.
How long is the training course?
The class is 2. 5 hours long and is facilitated in a webinar or video conferencing format.
What does it mean to be SafeTour Official?
An Official SafeTour is doing the work to stop sexual harassment and discrimination on the road by instituting protocol that includes clarity, training and accountability. To be considered an #OFFICIALSAFETOUR, the tour must declare a Zero Tolerance policy for sexual harassment and discrimination; 100% of tour staff must participate in sexual harassment and discrimination training and the tour must have a clearly defined system of receiving, vetting and punishing confirmed grievances. We look forward to the day when all tours are #OFFICIALSAFETOURs.
Does SafeTour offer accountability/compliance support?
Yes. SafeTour offers tour guidelines that were built with the help of our Coaltition and other tour industry professionals. We have an internal resource list and can help pair your tour with a compliance organization, a SafeTour Mentor or a tour management consultant who can give you more thorough help on building compliance.
Does putting a protocol in place open a can of worms?
Shining a light on liability does not create liability. That liability already exists and with each passing day of inaction, it grows larger. By putting protocol in place you are protecting the artist and the livelihood of everyone involved in the tour.
What’s the meaning of the logo?
We designed the green spray road case logo to represent our life on the road: rolling, stenciled for quick change; using the bright green color used to mark the boundaries of our stage each morning. SafeTour is excited to help everyone mark new boundaries to keep everyone safe on stage and off.

How did SafeTour get started?
SafeTour was started in 2019 by Kelly Clague, an artist manager working in the music business for over 25 years. Kelly saw an opportunity through touring to make a difference in the country music industry and beyond by creating a simple, executable tour protocol that could be adopted by every tour. Quickly, many other anti-sexual violence and discrimination professionals, along with tour veterans, artists and vendors jumped on board and the SafeTour Coalition was formed.
What is the SafeTour Coalition?
The SafeTour Coalition was formed in 2019 and consists of professionals in entertainment, mental health, equity and workplace discrimination and harassment. The coalition’s goal is to address the culture of the touring business. By using our internal expertise on how best to speak to not just the heads, but the hearts of music touring personnel, together we created effective protocols for addressing sexual harassment and discrimination in the working environment on tour.
